New Delhi Transportation
Many bus routes head from Delhi to Rajasthan via Jaipur,
and to the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. Delhi is one
of India's prime rail junctions and New Delhi Railway
Station is an easy place to buy tickets and make travel
plans. Long-distance trains head east across the Ganges
Plain to Kolkata via Varanasi, and south to Mumbai
(Bombay) via Agra.
Arriving by Air
India's capital city is served by Indira Gandhi
International Airport (DEL).
Getting Around New Delhi
For traveling around the city the yellow and black cabs
are fine, some with air-con, some without. Most luxury
hotels operate their own cabs which, while slightly more
expensive, will have air-con and extra comfort. Hiring a
car with a driver is advisable as the traffic takes some
getting used to. |
